2008/09 Parents Code of Conduct

Chesapeake Region Junior Olympic Program

I.    Practice TEAMWORK with all parents, players and coaches by supporting the values of Discipline, Loyalty and Hard Work. As a parent, I will not coach or instruct the team or any players at a practice or tournament (from the stands or any other area) without the permission of the coaches or club directors.

II.    Set Sportsmanship example by conducting myself at tournaments and practices in ways that earn the respect of my child, other players, other parents and the coaches.

III.    Maintain Self-Control at all times by following this guide: Parents - parent, Coaches - coach, Players - play, Referees - referee.  As a parent, I understand that publicly criticizing, name calling or the use of abusive language or gestures directed toward the coaches, referees and/or any of the participating players will not be permitted or tolerated.

IV.    Enjoy Involvement in the Junior Olympic Volleyball Program by supporting Players, Coaches and other Parents with Positive Communications and Actions.

V.    Sanctions: Should I conduct myself in such a way that brings discredit to my club, the region or the USVBA, I voluntarily subject myself to actions deemed appropriate by the organization exercising jurisdiction. (Note, the chairperson, JOV Rules and Policy Coordinator will process all complaints brought to the region for review.)
